Cheryl Borem, 60, of Mentone passed away Thursday morning, October 12. She was born May 9, 1957 in Columbia City to Gale and Virginia (Conley) LaRue. She married Dan Borem on August 14, 1982: he survives.

Cheryl was a 1975 graduate of Whitko High School and briefly attended Ball State University. She went on to work for Kimble Glass before her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and helping people however she could. She loved her cockatiels and providing Paws and Claws with her babies for several years. Cheryl enjoyed castles and got to spend time in Germany with her husband and toured many of them throughout the country. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her husband Dan.

Cheryl is survived by her husband of 35 years, Dan of Mentone, daughter Emily (Ryan) Harmon of Madison, IN, three grandchildren, James, Bryce and Xander. Also surviving is a sister Lisa (Butch) Johnston of Warsaw, and a brother Scott (Marla) LaRue of Pierceton and several nieces and nephews.

Cheryl’s wishes were for services to be private. Memorial donations in her honor can be given to the Wounded Warrior Project and mailed to the funeral home where they will be forwarded on.
