Glen Allen Obituary

Thomas “Glen” Allen, 84, of Silver Lake went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 26, 2018. Glen was born November 10, 1933 to Hatcher and Maudie (England) Allen. Glen married Effie Howard on March 12, 1955 in Wabash; she survives.

 He enjoyed wood working, fishing and hunting. He was a farmer for many years and enjoyed working outside in the garden. He was a deacon at Free United Baptist Church in Pierceton and retired from Controls in North Manchester after 30 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and enjoyed spending time with all his family.

Glen is survived by his wife of 63 years,  Effie of Silver Lake, a daughter Kimberly Allen (Ron) Yates of Packerton, a daughter in law Rhonda Allen of Silver Lake, three grandchildren Heath Allen, Matthew Allen and Shane Yates and four great grandchildren, Audrey Allen, Bryar Allen, Tyler Yates and Brayden Yates.

He was preceded in death by a son Thomas Ray Allen, four sisters and two brothers.

A service celebrating Glen’s life will be held Thursday, March 1 at 11 a.m. at Free United Baptist Church 7035 South State Road 13 Pierceton, IN; Pastor Ward Etsie Allen will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Silver Lake. Friends can visit with the family on Wednesday from 2-6 p.m. at the church.
