Freelin James Layne

Freelin James Layne, age 70, of Claypool, IN passed away on Monday, October 21, 2019 at home. He was born on August 26, 1949, the son of Frank and Gladys (Blankenship) Layne in Phelps, KY.

He is survived by his sister, Lechia (Joe) Manns of Claypool, IN; three nieces, Carol Ousley, Royetta Good, and Brenda Shepherd; and three nephews; Jacob Manns, Jamie Manns, and Jesse Manns.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Edna Presley.

Freelin served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1969-1971 and retired from R R Donnelley. He then worked as a semi driver for many years. Freelin lived a simple life, enjoyed Tractor Pulls, and reading the Indiana Auto & RV and Auto Trader magazines.

In keeping with his wishes, no public visitation or services are planned. A cremation committal will take place with Heritage Cremation & Funeral Services.
