Michael Robert Van Ness

Michael Robert Van Ness, age 86, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Mason Health Care Center in Warsaw, Indiana. He was born on July 29, 1937 the son of Elmer Gilbert and Leila (Scott) Van Ness in Burbank, California.

Michael grew up in California and lived an incredibly full life. He raced professionally in his younger years and was the first flat track dirt bike racer sponsored by Yamaha. Michael loved sailing, camping, and spending time with his friends and family. He was especially proud of his grandchildren.

He is survived by two daughters, Katrina (Michael Fisher) Diane Van Ness of Warsaw, Morgan (Charles) Pettigrew of Warsaw; nine grandchildren, Deon (Jade) Van Ness of Warsaw, Huntter (Hannah) Van Ness of Warsaw, Whitney (Seth) Miller of Mentone, Hannah (Armando) Van Ness, Holly Wood, Hazel Wood, Hope Wood, Harmony Wood all of Warsaw, and Parker Jarrell of Plymouth; and two great-grandsons, Wyatt Miller of Goshen and Hendrix Van Ness of Warsaw; a sister, Elaine Parriott of Arizona; a brother, Glenn Parriott of Arizona; and a nephew, Scott Maxwell of Wisconsin.

A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation will take place with Heritage Cremation & Funeral services in Warsaw.
