Oscar "Pee Wee" Russell

Oscar “Pee Wee” Russell, 70, of Milford passed away Friday, December 25, 2015 in Fort Wayne from a heart attack. He was born on March 27, 1945 in South Bend to Oscar M. and Thelma (Crawford) Russell. He married Martha ”Myrt” Elliott Fisher on December 30, 1995.

Pee Wee worked many years as a painter for Smoker Craft before his retirement in 2008. He and his wife Myrt were the owners and operators of the concession stand at New Paris Speedway for several years. After his retirement, he started working part time at South Shore Golf Course in Syracuse. Pee Wee attended the Wawasee Community Bible Church, enjoyed auto racing and watching sports.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Martha “Myrt”, a daughter, Karen (husband Rick) Simbeck of Elkhart, three step sons, Craig (wife Jen) Fisher of Milford, Steven (wife Lora) Fisher of Warsaw and Ronald (wife Mary) Fisher of Milford; six grandchildren and  3 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Greg (wife Jeanette) Russell of Wyatt and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Pee Wee’s life will be held Friday, January 1, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Wawasee Community Bible Church, 2035 E 1300 N, Milford; Pastor Josh Weiland will officiate the service. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service.
