Steven William VanDyke, age 67, of Warsaw, Indiana went to be with The Lord and his wife, on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at home. He was born on January 14, 1955 the son of Marion (Wydra) VanDyke in Chicago, Illinois. On November 19, 1982, he married, Ellen Fay Prater; she preceded him in death on June 23, 2010.
Steve grew up in Chicago and had lived in Arkansas and Nebraska before coming to Indiana. He owned and operated Specialty Tree Service for twenty years with his son, Chris. Steve enjoyed fly fishing, hunting, trimming trees, and woodworking. He truly loved being with his family and spending time with The Lord, reading his Bible. He was always there for his family and would do anything he could for them. Steve always put everyone else before himself and would do anything to help anyone.
Steve is survived by one daughter, Jennifer (Gary) Konkle of Warsaw; two sons, Chris (Brenda Schanbacher) VanDyke and Mike (Jenifer Morehead) VanDyke, both of Warsaw; three grandchildren, Steven VanDyke, Decklan Konkle, and Isaac Konkle; two sisters, Bonnie Highland of Nebraska and Susan Strickland of Lake Village, Arkansas; and a very special best friend, Sherri Kelich of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Fay VanDyke; his parents; and five siblings, Margie, Penny, Frances, Nick, and John.
No public visitation or services are planned at this time. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date.
