Andrew "Andy" Kenneth Kryder

Andrew “Andy” Kenneth Kryder, 45, of Leesburg went home to be with the Lord Thursday evening June 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Andy was born April 1, 1975 in Fort Wayne to Roger and Marge (Barnum) Kryder. He married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Hoffert on June 24, 2000, sharing 28 years together; she survives. 

Andy graduated from Wawasee Community High School in 1994 where he was an accomplished swimmer. He was the 1994 state champion in the 100 yard Freestyle and also won the Herman Keller mental attitude award. Andy still holds four swim records at Wawasee. After graduating high school he continued his education and swim career as a Ball State Cardinal graduating with the class of 1998. Andy went to work in the financial world for many years before becoming a business teacher and girls swim team coach at his alma mater, leading the team to the State Swim meet in 2020.

Andy was an active member of the Wawasee Community Bible Church, serving on the finance team for several years. He enjoyed starting, building and creating things with his hands. Andy had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. He enjoyed anything water related whether it was fishing, swimming or motorized. His biggest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and father. He supported his kids in all of their sporting endeavors. Andy was a pillar of the community, had a servants heart and touched the lives of countless individuals.

Andy is survived by his wife, Colleen, three children, Cammy, Nate and Zack all at home. Also surviving are his parents and one brother, Aaron Kryder of California.

A celebration of Andy’s life will be at 5:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Wawasee Community Bible Church, Pastor Josh Weiland will be officiating the service. 

A time to share with the family will be from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the service at Wawasee Community Bible Church on Tuesday.

Memorial donations in Andy's honor may be given to the Wawasee Community Bible Church.
