Obituary

Leona Evelyn (Moore) Smith, 89, of Warsaw passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022 at Mason Health Care in Warsaw. She was born on April 27, 1933 to Orville and Bessie (Wray) Moore in Minot, North Dakota. On Dec. 15, 1950, Leona married Ford Smith. 

Leona lived most her married life on the family farm near Claypool. She was employed with Fashion Bug in Warsaw for 21 years and attended Grace Brethren Community Church for over 30 years.

Leona is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Steve) Hart and Sherry Smith; grandchildren, Erica (Bobby) Noblitt, Vanessa (Phillip) Yentes, Gavin Smith; great grandchildren, Jade (Todd) Cornett, Summer Robertson; three great-great grandchildren; and two brothers, Arlen Moore and Larry Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and three brothers. 

In keeping with Leona’s wishes, no public visitation or service will be held. Cremation will take place with Heritage Funeral and Cremation Services of Warsaw.

Leona’s family would like to extend special thanks to those that cared for her at Mason Health Care. Their kindness is very much appreciated and will always be remembered.
